TR4A Door GlassTaking the runners of Triumph TR4A window/door glass is a mission. Firstly the rubber will be worn, secondly, the aftermarket new stuff never makes such a good fit as the old and thirdly, you have to reposition it spot on. Lot's of potential trouble.
Our solution has been to leave the glass in the runners and restore the runners as the rubber was in good condition. There were marks in the glass where the door has scratched the glass over time as the window went up and down. Our solution is to get the door glass polished. The technique for getting scratches out of glass heats up the glass to extreme temperatures as the polishing mops do the work. There is always the chance the glass can explode and crack? Fingers crossed! Pictures show the masked glass runners being panted after the rust was removed. Finished pictures will be here when the polishing process is complete. |
