The Eastwood Soda Blaster
So I bought the Eastwood Soda Blaster for £200 delivered. After looking around it seemed to offer the best value. It arrives as a kit and you have to retrofit the soda valves. It is all fairly straightforward and it took around an hour putting it together. The kit does not come with hose attachments for your hose so you will need to buy those and there is also no blasting media in the kit. Soda blasting media is very expensive and the cheapest I have found online delivered is £54 for a 25kg bag. Frost do it at £34 for 25kg with free delivery on orders over £75. It takes up to 10 bags for a large car. A full TR would come in at around 6 bags (150kg = £204). I am still looking around for a cheaper source of soda. I am hoping the expense of the kit and media will pay for itself in not too short a time. I'll keep you informed. I am expecting the hose connectors to come in at around £10 so the total bill to get going is £270! (Moss Europe sell Eastwood kit but at around 33% more expensive). My major concern is keeping the soda free of moisture as when damp in any form it will clog and become erratic. Need to think on this. Maybe store it in the living room by the coffee table!
I have now been and bought the connectors and they came to £17.... Whilst fitting them one of the connectors that came with the kit sheared leaving half of the threaded part inside the valve!!!! I got it out using a hammer and screwdriver tapping it around and managed to file what was left and rethread it... It is all back together so hopefully fixed. Be careful with the spanners if you buy one as they are quite fragile!

******Not Convinced*****!!!!!!!!
Started using the soda blaster and it seems not to have enough power to get rid of all of the really heavy grease etc. I have used it on a few more delicate parts and it seems to work fine but takes ages. More trials needed but it is certainly not an out-of-the-box success. Darn!!!!!
