So a few random parts and rebuilds on the same page. I thought it better to keep a record though. Every little part restored is a step closer. That's what I tell myself as the task seems enormous!
I love the look of our ally horn push. So much cooler than the black plastic ones. Fitting it? Nightmare! Had to grind the boss to accept it and due to the odd slip I have to polish the outer allen key ring. Also, the internals on the metal push had to be replaced by the internals from the plastic push to get it to work.
None of the small bolts match up and you have to dismantle the mills pins that have a nut on them for retention. Around 6 hours work and another 3 of head scratching. So why all the trouble? I put it down to our steering wheel being a Deering and not Moto-Lita. If you had a Moto-Lita wheel it may fit a lot easier. Good luck:-)
Once fitted you will feel elated - how many horn pushes can do that to you?
