TR4A Parts and Miscellanea
TR4A Rally Grill - SOLD
TR4A Rally Grill. Or at least that is what it said in the ad. I bought this as I liked the idea of having the extra spot lights fitting flush in the grill. This one looks homemade but how would you know – they would have all been individually fabricated from complete factory standard grills. There was some talk that a grill like this is bad news as it would restrict the flow of air on to the radiator and could cause cooling problems. I have actually found pictures of a grill with lights in but it does not look as well made as the one I had for sale opposite. Below are the pictures. I thought it was worth showing them as I have not seen another although there must be some? Click any of the pictures and you'll get a bigger one. |
Picture: TR4A grill altered to take spotlights. Looking at the example we found on a car, this one seems to be pretty well made by comparison.

Another Grill but this time for a Triumph TR4. This was found by a TR Register Member. Triumph did not make any gills that were modified to take spotlights according to the experts. This one looks well made.
TR4A Lubrication Chart
You know you have lost it and you’re a fanatic when you get your lubrication chart framed. A friend bought this chart for me and I framed it. Just needs to be hung on the wall. Maybe I’ll take the wife’s mirror down and put this up. Seems reasonable. A TR4A in a film from the 60’s
These two pictures are from 'The Avengers' around the mid 1960s. Cool things to note is the badge on the boot/trunk. I have never seen one of these on any TR4A and it is impossible to read at this resolution. (The badge says 'Overdrive' and is not a dealer badge). Also, the mounting of the ariel at the rear. It also has a big springy bit at the base. Mine's in the front but I like this position here. The steering wheel looks like a Moto-Lita but I guess it is a period aftermarket. Did the factory do a wooden wheel? Look at the white feet on the boot rack. All so period in detail. Click here to go to a site full of TR4As in the movies. |
