Dynalite - Dynamo/Alternator Triumph TR4A Conversion
We had a bit of trouble fitting our conversion. The problem was getting it to line up on the bracket. It was discovered that there was a lot of wear in the original bracket and bolt. After replacing these it all fitted like a glove. You do have to angle grind off a section on the modern replacement brackets as it is taller on one side and this does not allow full travel when letting the dynamo swing down for fitting. We used our old one as the template for the cut. The pictures clearly show the wear in the bracket and the retaining bolt (Half eaten away)

Dummy Control Boxes
|
Dynalites - the alternator that looks like a dynamo - has a built in regulator.
This means that you have two alternatives in respect of the ''old'' control box: 1) Remove your old control box and wire the Dynalite in accordance with the instructions provided or: 2) Remove the old control box and fit this dummy box which is prewired to suit the Dynalite and allows all the wires to be reconnected in accordance with the wiring instructions below. It also ensures that the ''dynamo'' warning light on your dash continues to function normally. This dummy box, which is based on the Lucas RB340 type Control Box, contains a fuse to protect your wiring loom The video shows the Dynalite being fitted at Holden. This video explains a lot. The wiring diagram below shows how the dummy control box is set up. You can visit Holden HERE.
