Speedo Cable, Speedo Angle Drive & RPM Drive & Cable
Our original angles drive was dubious. So we bought a replacement. The shaft would not fit in to the housing? So, we have stuck with the original. Fingers crossed it causes no bother. Pictures show the drive going in an out. You need a very thin spanner to hold the brass retaining part of the drive that is adjoined to the gearbox. We used a bicycle spanner.
Re-Tapping the thread
Years of abuse had ruined the thread on both the drive for the taco and the speedo. A simple dye turned by fingers cleaned the thread up a treat so both the speedo cable and the taco cable wound on effortlessly. No need for pliers of mole grips to nip them up tight. 3/4 x 26 TPI Brass thread fits the Angle-drives and male Tacho drives
