Spare Wheel Retainer - Triumph TR4A
Not much to look at here but the spare wheel retainer deserves as much detail as the rest of the car. The shaft has been polished. It is steel so this has then been treated with a metal preservative lacquer usually used on brass and copper. The retaining disc is also steel and this has been painted as per original. The air where we were spraying was a little damp and the paint reacted badly so we had to move the task indoors at the house where it is warmer than the workshop - shhhhhhhh! The wing nut is alloy and this has been polished.
